COLUMBIA, MD — A Howard County community has been named as a top place to find a summer job by WalletHub.
A report released by the personal-finance company WalletHub compared more than 180 markets in the U.S. across 21 key metrics. The data set ranges from the median income of part-time workers to the availability of summer jobs to the commuter-friendliness of jobs.
According to the report - 2026’s Best Places for Summer Jobs - Columbia ranks fourth in the nation for ease of finding a summer job.

Ranking first in the U.S. for best places for summer jobs happens to be South Burlington, Vermont, followed by Scottsdale, Arizona in second place, Rapid City, South Dakota, in third place, then Columbia, Maryland in fourth.
