Former School Employee Convicted In Sex Crimes Case Tied To Student
Donovan Michaud, of Dundalk, was convicted this week in a sex crimes case involving a high school student.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Donovan Michaud, a 30-year-old from Dundalk, was convicted Monday in a sex crimes case involving a high school student.
Michaud previously worked as a building services employee for Baltimore County Public Schools. The Monday conviction centers around his time working at Overlea High School.
Court records show Michaud pleaded not guilty to a fourth-degree sex offense before Baltimore County Circuit Court Judge Dennis Robinson Jr. However, he agreed to a summary of facts in the case.

Michaud was arrested in July after investigators were alerted "that he had an inappropriate relationship with a student at Overlea High School." The arrest was made by detectives with the Baltimore County Crimes Against Children Unit.
Assistant State’s Attorney Zarena Sita told The Banner that it was another building services worker who had seen Michaud entering a classroom with the 17-year-old student.
Warrants issued in the case returned Discord messages and nude photos of Michaud, who told authorities he abused his power and should be dismissed from his post, according to the outlet. The student also told investigators that she believed they engaged in a "consensual interaction," but that she regretted the situation.
