Maharashtra Khadya Jatra 2026 is a food festival celebrating the incredible regional cuisines of Maharashtra — one of India's largest and most culturally rich states, home to Mumbai and over 120 million people. Think of it as a culinary road trip across an entire Indian state, all in one afternoon in Baltimore.

What makes this different from a typical "Indian food" event? Maharashtra is not one cuisine — it's at least six. Each region has its own ingredients, techniques, and signature dishes shaped by its geography, climate, and culture:

• Konkan — Coastal flavors from the Arabian Sea shoreline, rich in coconut and seafood
• Vidarbha — Bold, fiery dishes from the sun-baked interior
• Marathwada — Earthy, rustic cooking from the Deccan plateau
• Khandesh — Unique spice blends found nowhere else in India
• Paschim Maharashtra — Classic home-style cooking from the Pune and Nashik region
• Mumbai — The street food capital of India, beloved worldwide

Multiple food stalls, each run by community home cooks, will bring these regional flavors to life. Come hungry — food is available for individual purchase at each stall.
