Charcuterie Craze Flourishes In Howard County
Maryland native Deanna Furman opened Graze Craze, a charcuterie business, in Ellicott City last fall.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Charcuterie boards and boxes, along with grazing tables, have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in the past few years. Deanna Furman opened Graze Craze in Howard County last fall and has been busy ever since.
Furman officially opened Graze Craze on Sept. 29, 2025. She said the business' goal is to be the corporate food caterer of choice for events - as well as a household brand name - in Howard County and surrounding counties.
"At Graze Craze, we celebrate everything - girls night, concerts/outdoor events, birthdays, formals, graduations, holidays, engagements, weddings, baby showers, retirement parties, corporate retreats, meetings, gifting - you name it. We are food vendors at Wine in the Woods on May 16-17 and the Maryland Wine Festival June 6; however, we hope to see everyone at the shop before then," Furman told Patch.

Furman decided to open Graze Craze in Ellicott City after working in the mortgage industry for more than 20 years. The Arnold native graduated from the University of Maryland and has one son and two Pomeranians, Lela and Grovo.
She thought she'd get her feet wet with a hobby that she could pass along to her son who had struggled academically and with his mental health since the coronavirus pandemic, she said. But then she found Graze Craze.

"It’s been a project that made me realize again that in life anything is possible and how important it is to have fun and embrace every opportunity that comes your way," Furman said.
Graze Craze can create a charcuterie setup as small as a cutie cup, which is an individual snack and budget-friendly for school events or as favors, up to a large board that serves up to 20 "grazers."
"We can do the grazing tables, but we also have a more economical staging option for large events and offer sandwich platters," Furman told Patch. "All of our fruits and veggies are hand cut and prepped each day along with premium meats
and cheeses sliced and cut. We make all of our dips, jams and hummus in house. Customers are thrilled by the freshness, quality and beauty of our boxes and boards."
Graze Craze also will customize orders to accommodate any dietary concerns or customer preferences.
"We have many clients with tree nut and gluten allergies, and we are vegetarian friendly. Customers can either call ahead to get questions answered and/or place the order online
with notes. We always go over every order when customers arrive to pickup," Furman said.
Some of the packages include:
- The Gone Grazey – A blend of cured meats, premium cheeses, crackers, fresh produce, nuts and other tastes.
- Sweet & Grazey – An abundance of desserts, like chocolates and baked goods, paired with sweet dips.
- The Vegegrazian – A vibrant medley of fruits, vegetables and cheese.
- Grazey for Keto – More protein and fewer sugar and carbs so that keto followers can stay on track.
- The Picnic Box – A boxed version of the four favorites listed above, perfect for date nights, intimate anniversary celebrations or day-trip picnics.
- The Game Day – A winning lineup packed with various meats, cheeses, breads and spreads that are ideal for watch parties and tailgating.
