Park Playground Closed In Ellicott City While Crews Replace Equipment

Centennial Park West's playground and surrounding area will be closed for at least two months while equipment is replaced.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Starting Monday, the playground at Centennial Park West will be closed for at least two months, as will nearby courts, as the county replaces equipment.

Located at 4651 Centennial Lane, the basketball courts, tennis court No. 1 and the volleyball court on the park's west side also will be closed.

Weather permitting, the work should wrap up in approximately two months.

Centennial Park West is open from 7 a.m. to sunset. At the park, there is an amphitheater, four playgrounds, numerous pavilions, a skating spot, tennis courts, volleyball courts, several ballfields, basketball courts, a boat ramp, fishing spots, handball courts, a fire ring, horseshoe pits, multipurpose pits and an exercise equipment area.
