Stormwater Pond Repairs To Begin In Ellicott City

Construction is scheduled to begin on or about July 8, according to Howard County officials.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Howard County is set to begin a months-long project to repair a failing stormwater pond near Thornbrook Road in Ellicott City.

Construction is scheduled to begin on or about July 8 at a stormwater management pond near 2731 Thornbrook Rd. The work is expected to be completed by late November, weather permitting.

The project includes replacing the pond's principal spillway barrel and outlet structure with reinforced concrete components and repairing the existing infiltration berm.

Construction is expected to take place weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Signs will be posted in the area to notify residents of the work.

The project is funded through Howard County's Watershed Protection and Restoration Fund.
