Popular Toy Store Could Return To MoCo After Nationwide Closure
Years after closing up shop, a new standalone Toys R Us could be returning to Montgomery County.
CLARKSBURG, MD — A popular toy store that closed nationwide after filing for bankruptcy could soon be opening a standalone branch in Montgomery County, according to a report.
The MoCo Show reported that Toys R Us is considering opening a new store at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets on 22705 Clarksburg Road.
The new branch is expected to open at the outlet mall's upper level, between UGG and Armani Exchange.

In Maryland, Toys R Us currently operates one shop at Arundel Mills in Anne Arundel County, with a smaller presence within Macy's stores.
The latest comes after the brand was revived in 2021 under new ownership after a 2018 bankruptcy filing saw all of Toys R Us' locations close.
