New Traffic Signal Headed To Perry Hall's Honeygo Boulevard

PERRY HALL, MD — After years of crashes and mounting calls from residents for safety changes, Baltimore County will install a new traffic signal on Honeygo Boulevard.

The traffic signal will be placed at the intersection of Honeygo Boulevard and Cross Road in Perry Hall.

The Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation said the signal was chosen over a possible roundabout after community support concerns and traffic delays "made it less feasible."

"Among the reasons for selecting this option, Cross Road can better accommodate turning movements using the existing turn lanes and roadway geometry," reads a statement from the department.

"Also, the surrounding roadway network provides greater flexibility for distributing traffic. In addition, this option will create breaks in the traffic that will allow residents of the Windsor Condominiums at Perry Hall Farms to turn out of their far east exit.

The decision came after four community meetings, traffic studies and a review of 669 survey responses from residents who laid out their preferences.

Over the course of meetings, residents stressed that traffic improvements were needed because of frequent crashes along the busy roadway.

Data released by the county showed that at least 17 crashes were documented at the intersection between July 2020 and July 2025. The majority of those cases, according to officials, stemmed from drivers either attempting to cross or make a left turn from Cross Road.

A timeline for the installation was not immediately available. Officials said updates would be shared online.
