York said there was "some form of sexual interaction" 90% of the time the pair were together, and that Haywood's husband became suspicious and contacted police after following them to an Airbnb.

The Baltimore Sun previously reported that the student had first approached the police about the case in February 2025.

Haywood had spent over nine months behind bars over the charges, but remains in home detention while awaiting sentencing, CBS Baltimore reported.

Prosecutors have recommended that Haywood be given five years of supervised release and required to register as a sex offender for 15 years. She is expected to have a hearing Sept. 18.
