Police ID Woman Killed In Reisterstown Road Hit And Run, Issue Reward

Baltimore County Police said the 64-year-old woman died from her injuries nearly a week after being fatally hit by a car.

PIKESVILLE, MD — Baltimore County Police are calling on the public's help as authorities search for a driver tied to a fatal hit and run case.

A release issued by the Baltimore County Police Department on Friday identified 64-year-old Melissa Nocho as the pedestrian who suffered fatal injuries when she was hit by a black Hyundai Elantra.

The department said the incident occurred in the 1700 block of Reisterstown Road, with officers responding shortly after 9 p.m. on Sept. 24.

Nocho had been hospitalized after suffering life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead Sept. 30.

Relatives told WBAL that Nocho was hit as she was heading back home after making a stop at the nearby Target retailer.

"She had to cross a busy street on Reisterstown Road, (and) unfortunately, there was a car that was going very, very fast and it hit her and she flew 6 feet in the air,” Zariah Lewis, one of Nocho’s nieces, told the outlet.

"(It’s) disgusting, honestly; I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy."

Police have issued a $2,000 cash reward for any tips that lead to an arrest and charges in the case. Anyone with information regarding the vehicle or its driver is asked to contact detectives at (410) 887-4636. See flyer released by police.
