Featuring original songs, powerful vocals and a badass horn section, King Soul has become a top draw at area clubs and events. 
 The all-star band includes members of the Slickee Boys, the Rhodes Tavern Troubadours, the Recliners, the Grandsons, the Hula Monsters, the Thangs and the J Street Jumpers. King Soul’s membership holds more than 30 Washington Area Music Association Wammies and Austin Music Awards to its credit.

To make this evening even more spectacular, The Tamburitzans have partnered with The Washington Balalaika Society to have the Slavic Dreams Ensemble entertain in the lobby pre-show beginning at 6pm. Richard Montgomery High School

The Rockville Brass Band enters its Golden Jubilee season with a free concert of works created during our first 50 years. Join us April 19, 2pm, in downtown Rockville at Richard Montgomery High School.

The band will play pieces composed or arranged after 1976, when this ensemble was founded to bring the sound of British Brass to Rockville. The works on the program range widely in style. They include the bold, brisk Liberty Fanfare by John Williams (1986) arranged by Steve Sykes (1987); a brass rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Freddie Mercury (1975) subsequently arranged by Christopher Wormald; a take on the American folksong Shenandoah and Across the Wide Missouri: Mid All the Traffic by Leonard Ballantine (2004); and William Himes’ (1983) adaptation of Richard Wagner’s 1848 opera classic Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral, from Lohengrin; as well as other works.

The Rockville Brass Band is the oldest continually operating British-style brass band in Maryland, and one of the oldest in the United States. Its members are professional musicians – former and current members of military bands, and professionally trained music instructors – as well as dedicated amateurs. They perform for the public, participate in competitions, and hold a music clinic and concert with students and seniors each June.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Hank Dietle’s has been a labor of love for fans of the county’s oldest licensed bar for many years, serving up cold beer and warm memories since the 1916 store reopened as Hank Dietle’s Tavern in 1950. As development pressures were wiping out history along the pike, longtime fan Tony Huniak took over in 1990 to keep our beloved bar going. When the Quarry House burned in 2015, Tony welcomed Rockabilly Saturday Night to a new venue on the pike, carving out space for dancing in a homey social setting that proved a perfect fit for fans of live roots &amp; retro music. After Hank Dietle’s suffered a devastating fire in February 2018, fans rallied again to save the irreplaceable roadhouse. Chantal “Kiti” Gartner set up a Go Fund Me website to help the out of work employees and teamed with Mark Segraves and others to organize a benefit concert to launch a reconstruction effort. Thanks to their tireless efforts and many fans who contributed, the roof was repaired, the porch rebuilt, critical electrical work done, and interior walls rebuilt. Building on their efforts, three devotees of the historic tavern, Tommy Bowes, Sarah Bonner, and Alan Kresse, along with Gina Cocco, Lisa White, and Tom Helf, teamed up to complete work on the interior, recreate our beloved “Hank Dietle’s Cold Beer” sign, and get the institution rolling again. All are long-time supporters of Maryland’s live music and dance scene—musicians, promoters and entrepreneurs dedicated to ensuring that Hank Dietle’s rides again.
