MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Marcus Jones, who serves as the chief of security for Montgomery County Public Schools, is out of a job, according to reports.

The move comes in response to budget cuts after the school district failed to make up the $36 million funding gap for fiscal year 2027.

MCPS spokesperson Liliana Lopez told Bethesda Today that Jones' position was just one of the hundreds of jobs included on the district's reduction list.
