Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce to Host Inaugural Public Safety Awards Luncheon Honoring Local Heroes

Silver Spring, MD — The Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce, in further recognition of its partnership with MCPD through the Silver Spring Safety Alliance, is proud to announce the inaugural Public Safety Awards Luncheon, a powerful new event dedicated to recognizing the courage, commitment, and life-saving actions of public safety personnel serving the greater Silver Spring community.

The luncheon will take place on Tuesday, July 15, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Rosensteel Hall, 9707 Rosensteel Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20910.

This inaugural gathering will bring together business leaders, elected officials, and partners to honor the extraordinary individuals who work every day to keep greater Silver Spring safe. The event will shine a spotlight on first responders and public safety professionals whose swift action, bravery, and dedication have made a meaningful impact—often in critical, life-saving moments.

“These awards are about more than recognition—they are about gratitude,” said Chamber President & CEO Stephanie Helsing. “We are proud to create a platform that uplifts the heroes in our community whose service and sacrifice often happen behind the scenes but make all the difference in people’s lives.”

Honorees will include representatives from law enforcement, fire and rescue, emergency services, and other public safety agencies serving the greater Silver Spring region. Each award recipient will be recognized for exemplary service, courageous response, and a steadfast commitment to protecting the community.

The program will feature lunch, a formal awards presentation and opportunities for attendees to connect with the individuals and agencies who serve on the front lines of public safety.

As the first event of its kind hosted by the Chamber and the Silver Spring Safety Alliance, the Public Safety Awards Luncheon is expected to become an annual tradition—reinforcing the Chamber’s role as a convener, connector, and champion of community excellence.
