Cockeysville Man Charged With Kidnapping Girl: Court Docs

A 34-year-old Cockeysville man was charged Friday in an abduction case involving a girl who was walking to school, court records show.

COCKEYSVILLE, MD — A 34-year-old man is facing a felony kidnapping charge in a case involving a girl who said she was abducted while walking to school.

Court records show Oscar Bladimir Argueta, of Cockeysville, was charged with the kidnapping of a child under the age of 16 and with second-degree assault.

A Friday release issued by the Baltimore County Police Department said Argueta came in contact with the girl near the intersection of Vintage Court and Cranbrook Road.

Police were alerted to the incident just before 8 a.m. Thursday, after the girl had arrived at Cockeysville Middle School and informed authorities of what had happened.

The middle schooler told officials that she was approached by Argueta while she was walking to campus, and that he had identified himself as a family friend before persuading her to get in his car.

The girl was driven to "multiple locations" before eventually being dropped off at school, according to the report.

Argueta remains held without bond.
