7+ Inches Of Rain To Bring 'Life-Threatening Flood Event' To MA: See Latest Forecast

Tropical downpours could cause dangerous conditions with a Flash Flood Watch in effect for parts of the state.

Parts of Massachusetts could get soaked with up to 7 inches of rain on Wednesday with a Flash Flood Watch in effect for much of the state.

The National Weather Service extended the Flood Watch to include much of central Massachusetts — including Worcester and Fitchburg.

"Totals of 2 to 4 inches for most areas, and 5 to 7 inches are possible for the Berkshires and Worcester Hills," the NWS said. "This has the potential to be a significant and life-threatening flood event for urban/poor drainage areas."

Rain will include the possibility of thunderstorms Wednesday night, with showers and thunderstorms lingering into Thursday.

Conditions should slowly improve Thursday into Friday with a lessening chance of showers each day.

The rain is forecast to clear over the weekend with mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures in the 80s both Saturday and Sunday.
