Framingham Baking Co., a local bakery that’s been hand-producing bread, rolls, and sheet pizzas for over a century, is preparing to turn off its ovens for good. The business at 840 Waverly St. in the city’s Coburnville neighborhood plans to close March 29, according to a Facebook post.

National fast food chain to close locations

Wendy’s, one of the nation’s largest fast food chains, is expected to close about five to six percent of its stores nationwide, including 28 restaurants that closed during the fourth quarter of 2025. With 5,969 locations across the country reported at the end of last year, that means nearly 360 Wendy's restaurants could shutter during the first half of this year.

Wendy's currently has 98 locations across the state, but did not say which locations would be closing.

Barbie-inspired cafe coming to Boston

The Malibu Barbie Cafe is expected to open on April 17 near the Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston. The pop-up at 101 S. Market St. will offer the 1970s beachside Malibu experience, including a casual menu with desserts and drinks.
