3 Injured After Car Crashes Into Newton Golf Course Pro Shop

Police responded to Brae Burn Country Club on Fuller Street on Saturday after the vehicle crashed into the course’s pro shop. The driver and two employees inside were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The crash damaged a wall of the building, which has since been boarded up.

Huge Scratch-Off Winner Sold At Wakefield Store

A $10,000 winning lottery ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven in Wakefield as part of the $1,000,000 Neon Cash scratch-off game. The Massachusetts State Lottery publishes a daily list of winning tickets worth $600 or more that are claimed by players across the state. Retailers that sell winning tickets typically receive a bonus from the Lottery.

Essex Corrections Officer Accused Of Supplying Drugs, Phone To Inmates

Christal Dunston was seen purchasing the drug-laced paper — commonly called "spice" — and then admitted to previously distributing it to an inmate when Sheriff's Department investigators questioned her about it at the Middleton Jail. The Lynn resident was arraigned Thursday in Salem District Court and pleaded not guilty to the multiple charges. She was immediately placed on administrative leave while criminal charges were sought. The Essex Sheriff's Office said K2 has become "a serious security threat in correctional facilities across the country" worth up to $8,000 inside jails.

2nd Man Charged In Connection With Fatal Shooting Of Cambridge DPW Employee

Giovani Arroyo has been charged with murder, carrying a firearm without a license, and conspiracy to commit a crime in the July 4 killing of Xavier Bautista. The arrest comes more than two months after Rayquon Brown was also charged with the crime. Authorities previously said there was no known connection between Brown and Bautista and that the motive for the shooting remained under investigation. Officials have not yet released additional information regarding Arroyo's role in the killing.

This MA Children’s Hospital Is Among The Best In The Country

Boston Children's Hospital was at the top of numerous Massachusetts facilities recognized by U.S. News and World Report. The outlet evaluated 114 hospitals across 11 specialties, looking at patient outcomes, medical practices and the resources available to care for children. The rankings also drew on surveys of thousands of pediatric specialists. The final report recognizes 90 children’s hospitals in 34 states and Washington, D.C. This is the 20th year the publication has published the rankings to guide parents, their children’s doctors, and caregivers in navigating a complex web of pediatric care choices for children with serious illnesses and rare conditions.
