Longtime Boston TV News Reporter Makes A Move In MA

BOSTON, MA — Longtime WHDH 7 News reporter Kimberly Bookman has left the station but will continue to cover Boston for NBC10, according to Boston.com.

Bookman announced on social media in August that she was leaving 7 News after 12 years with the station.

In a LinkedIn post Tuesday she said she will be joining the NBC10 Boston team.

"Looking for me?" she wrote. "Well, just grab your remote control … who am I kidding, this is Boston: 'get the clickah' … and tune in to NBC10 Boston!

"That’s right. I am going to continue to do what I love, in the city that I love."

Bookman said the station is "investing in the future of local news and in the many ways people are consuming and connecting to what’s going on. How we reach an audience is changing and I want to be part of the evolution."

Bookman is a Needham native who previously reported in Manchester, NH, Baltimore, MD, Spartanburg, SC and Elmira, NY, according to her bio.

In her sign-off post from 7 News, Bookman said her 12-year tenure was "the longest amount of time I've ever stayed at one job."

"I’ve always strived to be responsible in my reporting - knowing how important words are during challenging times, breaking news and on emotional subjects," she wrote. "I trained nearly every reporter who walked through the doors in the last decade."
