Massachusetts Pumpkin Record Smashed At Topsfield Fair: NBC
The pumpkin weighed more than a ton and a half, according to NBC.
TOPSFIELD, MA — A Topsfield man smashed the Massachusetts record for the state's biggest pumpkin, NBC reported.
The 42nd All New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off is a highlight of the Topsfield Fair, according to the network.
"And this year's giant pumpkin contest once again set a new record — Topsfield local Woody Lancaster grew a 2,598-pounder (about the size of a compact car) that topped last year's green-orange gourd, which weighed in at 2,507 pounds," the NBC story said.
