More Snow On Way For MA: See Latest Accumulations, Timeline

The blast of snow Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night follows a weekend storm where Beverly was the jackpot with 13.6 inches.

Areas of the North Shore that got blasted with a foot or more of snow this weekend could once again be the target zone for the next storm to hit the region on Tuesday.

While Beverly was the jackpot city with 13.6 inches — and most of the rest of the North Shore dug out of 10 inches or more — this next storm appears to be much less daunting with a widespread 1 to 3 inches statewide, and up to 4 inches in Essex County and out through Cape Ann.

The National Weather Service said the snow will arrive after 3 p.m. on Tuesday and will extend into the overnight. Snow will wrap up around midnight with higher amounts to the north and lesser amounts predicted for south of Boston.

Those are the same areas that got walloped on Saturday. As much of the state dealt with a nuisance storm of 4 to 6 inches, the North Shore got buried with Beverly, Hamilton, Salisbury and Marblehead among the overachievers with another foot of snow on top of what is already a 2-foot snow bed and streets lines with giant snowbanks.

Here are the top snowfall totals from the weekend, according to the NWS:
