Body Of Framingham Resident Found After Kayaker Goes Underwater In Southborough

Police, fire and EMS responded to a report of a possible drowning at Crystal Pond Sunday evening. A bystander reported seeing a kayak flip over and its occupant go underwater. The dive teams entered the water and found the body at 7:24 p.m., about three hours after first being called to the scene.

North Shore Restaurant Closed 'Indefinitely' After Driver Slams Into Building

School Street Foods ownership said the Saturday night crash caused thousands of dollars of damage. The restaurant located at 618 Salem St. is asking customers to visit the Methuen location, where much of the staff will be relocated during the closure. State Police said that the 19-year-old driver failed to stop for police on Route 1 before the crash, and will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and other crimes in Peabody District Court.

Woman Dies In Swampscott Condo Fire

A 69-year-old woman who was rescued from a condominium fire later died at Salem Hospital. The woman was rescued from a fourth-floor unit in the condo complex on 1 Loring Ave. Firefighters responded to the early morning scene to find heavy smoke coming from the top floor and heavy fire in one fourth-floor unit. The flames were contained to a single unit. Other residents were able to return to their dwellings that same day.

Malden Police Find Large Amount Of Drugs After Vehicle Stop

The 34-year-old man was pulled over by police at Eastern Avenue on Friday evening. The stop was reportedly conducted after the vehicle’s registration had been revoked due to an insurance issue. Nearly 250 grams of cocaine were found in the man’s possession, and he was charged with numerous counts of drug and motor vehicle infractions.
