Worship With Us! Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost, Featuring Soloist Sofia Santoro

This Sunday, Paul asks us to think about a garden.
Not a garden of matching rows, and not one where every plant is asked to grow the same way. A real garden, late in the summer, tomatoes leaning on their stakes, zinnias going in every direction, a squash vine wandering somewhere it was never invited. It is not tidy, and it is not supposed to be. Paul reaches for that same wild abundance when he writes to the church in Rome about the body, and about gifts that refuse to rank themselves against one another.
This sermon is an invitation to look around this congregation the way one looks at a late-summer garden, and to notice how many different gifts are already quietly at work here. Some of those gifts are visible on a Sunday morning. Many are not. Sunday makes the case that none of them is optional, and none of them is small.
Come curious about what your own gift is, and whether this church has yet made room for it. There is very likely more room than you think.
Come and worship with us on Sunday, August 23rd, at 9:30am. During this Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost, as we welcome Rev. Karen Hodges to the pulpit. She will lead us in a service full of prayer, scripture, reflection, and inspiration.
No matter who you are, whom you love, or wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome at ACC, an open and affirming congregation.
Arrive early at 9:20am and enjoy our beautiful musical prelude. This week, our talented summer organist, Shawn McCann, will delight us with beautiful organ music to start off our worship! We welcome soloist Sofia Santoro to worship this week.
Can't join us in person? You can also join us virtually through our livestream options: Livestream | Acton Congregational
