Car Plows Through Wall Of CVS In Acton: Authorities

ACTON, MA — A car drove through the wall of a business Saturday afternoon in Acton, according to authorities, toppling shelves and sending items flying.

Police and fire officials responded shortly after 3:30 p.m. to a CVS in the 300 block of Great Road, arriving to find a 2011 Jaguar sedan had crashed through an exterior wall and was inside the store, authorities said.

The driver, an 83-year-old woman, and her passenger, an 88-year-old man, both of Acton, were not hurt, according to authorities, nor were any shoppers or store employees.

“A request for immediate threat to suspend or revoke the operator's license has been submitted to the Registry of Motor Vehicles,” the Acton police and fire departments said in a news release.

The car was removed from the scene but the business will be closed until the damage is repaired, according to authorities, who noted the Acton building commissioner responded to the incident and the crash remains under investigation.
