Step into an improv workshop where your stories matter 🎭
We will try out improvisational forms of Playback Theatre to respectfully embody each other’s stories. Participants often share that they learn how to listen more deeply to themselves and others, while enjoying creative movement, drama, and song. No prior experience necessary – all are welcome.

Come ready to share, reflect, and play ✨Together we’ll practice simple forms that deepen empathy, build trust in the group, and honor each person’s voice through spontaneous theater.

Over the years, the gallery has developed close working relationships with these four artists. Each has developed a style, artistic philosophy and area of focus that make their work distinct and recognizable. Happenstance brings these diverse bodies of work into conversation to provoke questions and spark intriguing connections.

The Improbable Beasts bass clarinet ensemble, with special guests Meryl Summers(bassoon) and Solon Gordon (piano) present “We Rise,” a program of music about coming together in the midst of adversity, and rising up in community.
Beasts director Jonathan Russell will be joined by pianist Solon Gordon and bassoonist Meryl Summers in his compositional response to the dislocations and disruptions of our current moment called “We Reflect, We Grieve, We Rise.” 
After this, the Beasts present two more of Russell’s original compositions and close with a rousing rendition of the African American Spiritual and protest song “Down by the Riverside.” 
Come join the Beasts for a memorable afternoon of moving and rousing music.
