Robbins Memorial Town Hall

The Philharmonic Society of Arlington will present its Pops Concert and Strawberry Festival on Friday, June 12, 2026
at the Arlington Town Hall, 730 Mass. Ave, Arlington. 
 

The evening will begin with our Strawberry and Ice Cream Festival held in the Gardens beside the Town Hall from 6:00 – 7:30 PM with entertainment by Davey the Clown and Liberty Bones Brass Ensemble. The concert will begin indoors at 7:30 PM.
 
 

This year’s Pops Concert continues to celebrate Arlington250, with the theme “America’s Musical Tapestry”. The Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Orlando Cela, will include “Estampas Mexicanas” by José Elizondo; a medley of traditional Irish tunes featuring step dancers from the Rebecca McGowan Irish Dance School; and Cajun music featuring the Squeezebox Stompers, a Boston-based Americana band. The Arlington-Belmont Chorale, led by guest conductor Dan Ryan, will perform a variety of works including show tunes such as “Over the Rainbow” and “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” as well as songs celebrating America such as “Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor” and “America the Beautiful”. The orchestra and chorale will join together to perform “Edelweiss” and “Make Them Hear You”. As is the tradition of Pops, the evening will end with “The Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa. 
 

Tickets: Strawberries and ice cream $5. Concert: Table seats on the floor $20, balcony seats $10 for adults and $5 for children. For tickets, please contact the Philharmonic box office at: 781-234-8377. Tickets may also be purchased at the door (reserved tickets for tables recommended). Wheelchair accessible. Wrapped snacks and beverages will be available for sale during the concert; there is also a water filling station in the Town Hall lobby. 
 

The Philharmonic Society of Arlington (PSA), is a 501(c)3 non-profit community organization. This concert season is funded in part by a grant from the Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture, a local agency supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. This spring <a target="_blank" href="https://artsarlington.org/" rel="nofollow noopener">ArtsArlington</a> partnered with the <a target="_blank" href="https://mysticriver.org/" rel="nofollow noopener">Mystic River Watershed Association</a> to create a participatory mural project which utilizes the creativity of our local community to celebrate the return of the herring to the Mystic River. The project, called <a target="_blank" href="https://artsarlington.org/go-fish/" rel="nofollow noopener">Go Fish!</a>, involved community members painting 2,000 fish, which have been installed in groups on storefronts in Arlington for the public to discover and appreciate.&nbsp;
13FOREST Gallery has enjoyed a long and fruitful partnership with ArtsArlington, and as a part of this project we are hosting an event at the gallery on Saturday June 13 from 4-6 pm to celebrate the herring installation on the Edith M. Fox Library, which includes fish made by our 13FOREST artists. To mark the occasion, Public Art Curator Cecily Miller will provide some insight into how she developed this project, and then local poets <a target="_blank" href="https://brownskinnedpoet.net/" rel="nofollow noopener">Terry Carter</a> and <a target="_blank" href="https://artsarlington.org/beehive-anthology/" rel="nofollow noopener">Steve Rapp</a> will present poems inspired by our local waterways.
