In Cape Cod Movie About To Premiere, Anthony Bourdain Lives On

CAPE COD, MA — Coming soon to your local theater, and filmed nearby: “Tony,” a Hollywood biopic of celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain and his days working on Cape Cod.

The feature film was shot primarily on the Cape last year, and will release over the summer, according to multiple reports. A trailer dropped Tuesday.

Starring as Bourdain is Dominic Sessa, who appeared in the 2023 Oscar-nominated movie “The Holdovers.”

Bourdain died by suicide in 2018 at age 61. As he often recounted, he spent formative years during the 1970s in jobs at Cape seafood restaurants, including the Lobster Pot in Provincetown.

Antonio Banderas plays the restaurant owner and mentor who helped Bourdain turn his life around after he fights, punches walls and gets thrown out of bars.

Bourdain began as a writer and eventually combined his culinary and literary abilities, authoring books and articles. He is probably best known for hosting several TV series focused on cooking and travel, including CNN’s “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.”
