Blaze Breaks Out At Boston Home

BOSTON, MA — A fire broke out at a multi-family home in Brighton Monday morning, according to the Boston Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the two-alarm blaze at 259 North Beacon St. at approximately 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31. Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy fire showing from the two-and-a-half-story wood-frame building and immediately struck a second alarm. Heavy smoke and flames could be seen emanating from multiple floors of the home as firefighters worked at the scene.

The heavy fire was knocked down shortly after 10 a.m., according to the department. Firefighters then began checking the building for extension and working to extinguish numerous hotspots throughout the home. Detail companies were expected to remain at the scene for some time due to the hotspots.

The fire caused significant damage to the multi-family home, with images from the scene showing exterior charring. Multiple ladder trucks were also operating above the home as crews worked to bring the fire under control.

Potential injuries and the cause of the blaze have not yet been determined.
