Restaurant Hosts Fundraiser For Family Of Fallen Boston Firefighter: Report
The event was held at a restaurant frequently enjoyed by Kilduff Jr.
BOSTON, MA — The West Roxbury community gathered Tuesday night to support the family of fallen Boston firefighter Robert Kilduff Jr., according to a report from Boston 25 News.
The fundraiser was held at Joe’s 320 Café on Spring Street, a neighborhood restaurant Kilduff frequently visited with his children. Friends, neighbors, fellow firefighters, and supporters filled the restaurant for an after-hours event featuring dinner and raffle prizes, with all proceeds going to Kilduff’s family.
Kilduff died in the line of duty while battling a fire in Dorchester. He is survived by his two children, who spoke at his funeral Monday. The 53-year-old fell from the third floor of the home on Treadway Road while battling a three-alarm blaze on May 23 and ultimately succumbed to his injuries. He worked for the Boston Fire Department for 24 years after serving in the United States Marine Corps.
