Art, music and community will come together this fall when Urban Symphony, a public art exhibition presented by Brookline-based Studios Without Walls, moves to Hancock Village for a month-long installation beginning September 17.
The free outdoor exhibit will feature 13 site-responsive sculptures created by 14 artists, installed throughout the Hancock Village apartment community at various locations beginning at the Hancock Village Community Center on One Hancock Village Drive. The exhibition will be open to the public through October 16 and is designed to invite visitors to experience contemporary sculpture within the landscape and architecture of the community.
An exhibit-opening celebration will take place at Hancock Village on Thursday, September 17, from 3-7pm and will feature activities for visitors of all ages, including outdoor games and music. Refreshments from local food trucks will be available for purchase. The event is being held to mark the 80th anniversary of Hancock Village. The Village’s groundbreaking occurred nearly 80 years ago to the day.
