DA Makes Decision On Charges Against Protesters At Burlington ICE Facility

BURLINGTON, MA — The Middlesex District Attorney's Office is dropping charges against two protesters who were arrested at an ICE facility in Burlington, according to WBUR.

Trespassing charges against Nathan Phillips, 58, of Newton, and Nastasia Lawton-Sticklor, 42, of Leominster were dropped Thursday shortly before the case was scheduled to go to trial.

The pair was arrested in September 2025 at the ICE facility at 1000 District Avenue. Another protester from New Hampshire was also arrested.

The three were attempting to deliver food to those being detained at the facility, according to Boston.com. Police told them that ICE could not accept outside food, and the group said they would not leave voluntarily until they were allowed to deliver the food.

The group was protesting alleged mistreatment of those detained at the federal building.

Police said at the time they believed this was "a planned protest with arrests being the ultimate goal."
