Chelmsford Firefighter Seriously Injured In Fall At Academy Discharged From Rehab
The firefighter visited headquarters Monday, the department posted on social media.
CHELMSFORD, MA — A Chelmsford firefighter seriously injured in a fall from a Stow Academy burn building last month was discharged from rehab.
"Firefighter Nick Spinale was discharged from Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital this morning," the Chelmsford Fire Department posted on social media.

"Nick stopped by headquarters and seeing him here meant everything to this department," the post said.

A GoFundMe that has raised more than $177,000 said Spinale has been a member of Chelmsford Firefighters IAFF Local 1839 for two and a half years.

"Injured during the performance of his duties on the morning of Tuesday April 7th, training other firefighters, Nick fell approximately 40 feet from a window," the GoFundMe said.

"He sustained multiple serious injuries, including facial fractures, severe internal organ damage, and fractures to both wrists," according to the GoFundMe. "He faces several surgeries to fix his injuries. Funds raised would support his ongoing rehabilitation and recovery."
