Hosted by cannabis educator and industry consultant Heather Flower, Cannabis 101 is an interactive, audience-driven class designed to answer the questions people actually have about cannabis. No jargon, no pressure, and no consumption required.
Whether you’re simply curious, interested in the wellness side of cannabis, or already familiar with the basics, this session explores how cannabis works, how products differ, and how people are using it today.
Topics include: • The history and culture of cannabis • Cannabinoids, terpenes, and how they affect the body • Wellness, medicinal, and recreational uses • Understanding THC percentages and why stronger isn’t always better • The “low and slow” approach to responsible consumption • A look at today’s cannabis products, from flower and edibles to drinks, tinctures, and more
Guests will also explore the world of terpenes and how aroma connects to mood, memory, and the brain.
This is a relaxed, stigma-free space to ask questions and learn something new.

Her creative work has been supported with scholarships and residencies from Tin House, Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, the Juniper Summer Writing Institute, the Hudson Valley Writers Center, and Smith College.
