Danvers Girls Soccer Team Dashes To MA Tournament Of Champions Title Match
The sixth-grade girls team won the first four games before falling in penalty kicks in the final.

DANVERS, MA — The Danvers Dash 6th Grade girls soccer team marched all the way to the title game at the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions before falling in penalty kicks in the final.
Danvers won its first four games of the tournament before taking on Needham, which had outscored its opponents 24-2 in its MTOC games, in the championship game.
Danvers battled Needham to a 2-2 tie through regulation and overtime before falling in kicks.

This was a Danvers Youth Soccer recreation team with no club affiliation.
Danvers beat teams from Beverly and Peabody in the Essex County tournament to qualify for MTOCs.

Once there, the girls beat Melrose 2-1 in the first game and beat Martha's Vineyard 3-0 in the second game.
Danvers won its pool with a 2-1 triumph against Littleton in Game 3 before beating Whitman-Hanson 2-1 in the semifinals.
