Danvers Roadwork Set To Start On Maple Street Next Week

DANVERS, MA — Danvers drivers can expect roadwork on Maple Street starting Monday as MassDOT begins pavement restoration through its Municipal Pavement Program.

The work will be performed by Vinci Group under the supervision of MassDOT and the Danvers Department of Public Works.

Crews will begin by setting up traffic controls and message boards and mobilizing equipment. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the schedule is weather dependent.

The project includes pavement milling, drainage and utility adjustments, new pedestrian curb ramps, minor sidewalk and curbing repairs, and final paving. Work areas are listed as the stretch from the Middleton Town Line to Hazen Avenue and from 197/204 Maple Street to 1 Poplar Street, also known as Winthrop Street.

Residents and motorists should expect traffic delays, dust, noise, lane shifts and possible detours while construction is underway.

The project also includes accessibility and infrastructure updates beyond paving. New pedestrian curb ramps and sidewalk and curbing repairs are part of the planned work, along with drainage and utility adjustments before final paving is completed.
