Nor'easter Forecast Cancels North Shore Life & Wellness Expo

DANVERS, MA — The looming nor'easter forced the cancellation of the second annual North of Boston Life & Wellness Expo, scheduled for Saturday at Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School in Danvers.

The North Shore legislative delegation said the event was called off because of a nor’easter forecast to reach the region with the potential for 40 mph winds, heavy rain, and the possibility of storm damage and power outages.

The delegation said many exhibitors, volunteers and guests planned to travel from across the North Shore and Cape Ann. It said the decision was made on Wednesday, out of an abundance of caution, to give people as much notice as possible before the weekend weather arrives.

"This was a hard call, but it was the right one. The safety of our residents, our exhibitors, and our volunteers comes first. So many organizations stepped up to be part of this day, and we are grateful to every one of them. We look forward to bringing our community together again soon," State Senator Joan Lovely, Second Essex (D-Salem) said.

Organizers said they are exploring options for a future date and will share details as soon as they are available. Registered exhibitors are being contacted directly.

The delegation also urged people to check on older neighbors and family members who may need extra help during the storm.
