North Shore Grandmother To Use $50K Lottery Win On College Fund

The winning ticket was bought in Georgetown.

GROVELAND, MA — A North Shore grandmother said she is planning to use her $500,000 in Massachusetts State Lottery winnings to set up a college fund for her grandkids.

Louann Briscoe of Groveland is the winner of a $500,000 top prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery's "$500,000 Frenzy" instant ticket game.

Briscoe received a one-time payment of $500,000 (before taxes).

"I'm happy and excited because we can use it to take care of our family," Briscoe told the Lottery. "I’m very grateful."

The winning ticket was purchased at Crosby’s Marketplace on Central Street in Georgetown. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

The “$500,000 Frenzy” instant ticket launched with a total of 50 top prizes. This is the sixth $500,000 to be claimed.
