Join us for a summer adventure full of wit, romance, and Regency‑era charm as Pride &amp; Prejudice enchants us on the big screen at Museums on the Green. Surrounded by the museum’s historic ambiance, you’ll step into Austen’s world of elegance, humor, and a touch of matchmaking mischief.  Our own Wicks House, built in the same period as Austen’s beloved novels, offers the perfect backdrop for this timeless story. 
Take a special tour of the Wicks House prior to the movie. There is a window between the Wicks House tour and the movie start time.
Bring a friend, grab a seat, and enjoy a timeless story that’s perfect for a June day — classic film, beautiful setting, and great company. Recommended for 12 years +

The Gallery at FCTV

Artworks by Anne Torry-Ballou, Denise Leone &amp; Colleen Corson will be displayed at The Gallery at FCTV from July 6 through July 31. A Gallery reception will take place on Sunday, July 12, from 3-5 pm.
Denise Leone began her creative journey by creating mobiles and wind chimes, transforming these coastal treasures into unique, handcrafted pieces. Through mixed media work, she combines her love of nature, appreciation for craftsmanship, and interest in culture and design. Each piece reflects the beauty of Cape Cod, the beaches around the world, and the stories found along its shores, with the hope of inspiring others to see the natural world through art. Of her work, Denise says: “My inspiration comes from living on Cape Cod and from my family’s rich artistic heritage. Surrounded by miles of beautiful beaches, I find endless inspiration in nature. While exploring the shoreline, I collect treasures such as seashells, sea glass, driftwood, and other natural elements that become the foundation of my artwork.”
From childhood, Anne Torry-Ballou wanted to be an artist. Family outings into woods, fields, hills, along streams and rivers, and the shores of several states, instilled a love and respect for nature. Respected art teachers in school taught her to look at the world and notice lights and shadows, color hues and complements, depth and perspective. Early lessons in art history gave her insight into the world of painting, and she was specifically drawn to the work of the French Impressionists.
Working almost exclusively with acrylic paint, with occasional forays into watercolor studies, she uses photographs as references to document placeholders in the development of the work. A chiaroscuro sketch on the canvas is made using burnt and raw sienna, white, and burnt and raw umber. The work is developed to capture light, shadows, color, and energy by applying color in layers of paint and glazes. While her recent work is primarily landscapes and seascapes, she also creates floral paintings and occasionally takes on commissions.
Colleen Corson is a multimedia artist and clothing designer who believes that art shouldn’t just hang on a wall – it should be lived in, moved in, and experienced. Her journey as an artist is rooted in a deep love for texture, color, and storytelling. On canvas, she expresses this through multimedia painting, blending different materials and techniques to create rich, layered visual narratives. As a clothing designer, Colleen views garments as wearable canvases. Her designs are created for those who see fashion as a form of personal expression, blending thoughtful craftsmanship with a modern, artistic aesthetic. “Whether I am manipulating paint on a canvas or fabric on a form, my goal remains the same: to create distinct, authentic pieces that speak to the soul,” says Colleen.

Village Green Historical Walking Tour – at Museums on the Green

The Falmouth Historical Society and the Falmouth Garden Club are pleased to provide the opportunity to tour the spectacular gardens at the Museums on the Green this summer! Take a walking tour of each of the five gardens in this beautiful location led by Falmouth Garden Club members.
Tours on Tuesday or Saturday at 11am, allowing time to visit the buildings.
The tour will last about 40 minutes. The dates are as follows:

From its ancient roots to its place in New England – and here on the Cape – this talk brings history to life.
Enjoying a hard cider tasting from Sandy Neck Cider Company—including their special 250th anniversary Revolutionary Dry!After exploring the spirited history of colonial inns, taverns, and cider, keep the fun flowing with this hands‑on creative workshop! Guided by Museums on the Green staff, you’ll design and paint your own tavern sign inspired by the bold imagery and storytelling of early American public houses. Learn how these signs reflected community, craft, and character—then bring your own to life to take home.&nbsp;

Attendance is limited to guests aged 21 and older. Valid identification is required for participation in the cider tasting.

Every piece is hand-dyed with botanicals, and all materials are grown in the home garden, sustainably foraged, or responsibly sourced.
<a href="https://northeastdyeworks.com/about" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Rebecca Zaremba</a> is the maker behind Northeast Dyeworks. Inspired by a lifelong love of nature, her work centers on translating the beauty of plants and flowers into lasting color on textiles, creating pieces that reflect both place and season. When she isn’t working with botanicals, she can be found teaching and learning alongside tiny humans as an early childhood educator. She lives in East Sandwich with her husband and son, where she’s continually inspired by the natural world around her. We are proud to have her as our July Artist of the Month.

Welcome to our yearlong series in which “America’s Preeminent Presidential Doodler”, Heather Rogers, shares facts, factoids, and fun illustrations about the presidents of these United States.
This month, our focus turns to Andrew Jackson: Into dueling (and had a bullet near his heart to prove it). Blamed John Quincy Adams for his wife’s death. Last president to conveniently die at the same place where his funeral was held and he was buried (his swearing parrot was kicked out of his funeral). 
This program will be recorded and is sponsored by the Library Board of Trustees and is in collaboration with Ashland Public Library and a multitude of MA and NH libraries.

Beloved for his ability to touch hearts with his soulful film performances as well as his lightning-fast character shifts, uncanny mimicry, and fearless flights of absurdity, Robin Williams remains one of comedy’s most beloved figures. Actor-comedian Roger Kabler pays tribute in this one-man show to the great Robin Williams, delighting audiences with his impressions of Hollywood greats. Tickets are available on eventbrite.com for $35 general admission including fees. Supporter tickets are $100 Including fees. Tickets at the door are $40. Recommended for mature audiences. Doors will open an hour before the performance, with beer, wine, nonalcoholic beverages, and snacks available for purchase. Sea Stars Early Learning Center offers a balanced program that incorporates play-based learning, structured lessons, and physical activities. Children are encouraged to explore their interests, whether through music, art, science, or outdoor exploration. The facility focuses on helping children develop strong social skills through group activities, games, and cooperative learning. There’s an emphasis on emotional intelligence, teaching kids how to manage their feelings and resolve conflicts peacefully. Our amazing helps kids learn to share, collaborate, and support one another, fostering a sense of community. The facility embraces children from all backgrounds and is sensitive to cultural differences, making sure all children feel accepted and valued. The facility features a large, secure outdoor play area with age-appropriate equipment. Children spend plenty of time outdoors, engaging in physical play and exploring nature. There may also be gardening activities. The building is designed with child safety in mind, featuring soft corners, non-toxic materials, and secure fencing around outdoor areas. Access points are monitored and locked to ensure only authorized individuals can enter. There’s a first aid kit and trained staff on hand at all times to handle any emergencies. The classrooms and play areas are spotless, with an abundance of natural light streaming in through large windows. The space is well-organized, with age-appropriate toys, books, and learning materials accessible to children. There’s a cozy reading nook, art stations, and sensory play areas where kids can explore their creativity. Our staff is certified in child development, first aid, and CPR, but they also have a genuine passion for working with children. Melissa Anderson and Leigh-Ellen Ferreira are two Falmouth natives who have spent many years working with children.
