Never Forget September 11th, 2001: A personal reflection 25 years later
Twenty-Five years ago, Paul Faenza was a Sergeant in the New York City Police Department. On September 11th, 2001, he responded with hundreds of other police officers and firefighters to Ground Zero. His presentation details that morning and beyond from a personal & professional perspective. From wading through knee high dust to witnessing the collapse of Building 7; searching buildings for evidence, digging on the pile, and taking part in an honor guard at the temporary morgue. The talk will provide a sense of what occurred that day from a First Responders’ point of view, and to ensure that people never forget the events of September 11th, the lives lost and the lives we continue to lose to 9/11 related illnesses.
