Fat Boy BBQ Launches In Malden

MALDEN, MA — A Cantonese barbecue restaurant has opened its second Massachusetts location in Malden.

Fat Boy BBQ recently opened at 60 Broadway inside the 99 Asian Supermarket Food Court. The new eatery expands the business beyond its original restaurant in Quincy's Wollaston neighborhood, which held its grand opening in November 2024.

Fat Boy BBQ specializes in authentic Cantonese barbecue, with a menu featuring roasted duck, crispy pork belly, and char siu, or barbecued pork. Other offerings include pipa duck, soy sauce chicken, scallion chicken, barbecue ribs, roasted quail, beef shank, and marinated cuttlefish. The restaurant also serves a variety of rice and noodle dishes, including combination plates featuring several of its roasted meats. Whole roasted pigs are available through advance orders.

The Malden location is owned by Russell Chin and Yandi Huang. Mayor Gary Christenson recently joined the owners for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the new restaurant. State Rep. Paul Donato, City Council President Amanda Linehan, Councilor-at-Large Michelle Luong, and Ward 6 Councilor Steve Winslow were also among the local officials who attended the event.

The restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.
