MALDEN, MA — Malden Catholic has hired Arthur Staffiere as the next head coach of the school's girls soccer program.

Staffiere also holds several coaching credentials including a United States Soccer Federation B License and multiple NSCAA coaching certifications, including the Advanced National Certificate.
According to the school, Staffiere's coaching philosophy centers on developing young female student-athletes through technical skill training, team play, discipline and leadership development. The hire comes as the Lancers look to build on recent success and continue competing at the highest level of Massachusetts high school soccer.
Staffiere will succeed Michael Colombo, who led the team through a season that included an appearance in the MIAA Division I State Tournament in the program's first year competing at that level.
Under Colombo, the program also earned multiple conference all-star selections, according to the school. Malden Catholic said the team continued to raise the standard for girls soccer during that run as it adjusted to Division I competition.
An official start date for Staffiere has not been announced.
