Malden Man Arrested In Federal Investigation

MALDEN, MA — The police department assisted state and federal authorities with the arrest of a man Thursday morning.

Jordende Pierre, 29, was taken into custody early Thursday morning as part of an ongoing criminal investigation. Malden police said detectives were assisted by the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and FBI Boston Violent Crimes Task Force during the operation in and around the 300 block of Summer Street.

Pierre was taken into custody on an outstanding criminal arrest warrant and is expected to be transported to Malden District Court for arraignment.

"Based on the facts and circumstances of the investigation, and in order to protect the victim, no additional details will be released at this time," the department said in a statement.

According to police, there is no ongoing threat to public safety related to the investigation. The department also thanked residents for their patience and cooperation during the police activity Thursday morning.
