Malden Prosecutor's Assistant Retires After Lengthy Career

Patricia Schulz has filled a crucial role for the local justice system for nearly 40 years.

MALDEN, MA — The police retirement recognized an important employee after her lengthy career came to an end in February.

Patricia Schulz retired from her position as Clerk and Assistant to the Court’s Prosecutor after 37 years. Throughout her tenure, she worked in Malden District Court, Cambridge Juvenile Court, and Middlesex Superior Court tasked with making their operations run as smoothly as possible.

“Her professionalism, institutional knowledge, and unwavering commitment to the job made her an invaluable part of our department,” Police Chief Glenn Cronin said in a statement. “Patricia’s dedication and steady support for our officers, command staff, and court personnel will be deeply missed ,but her impact will be felt for years to come.”

Schulz’s specific duties included making sure all necessary documents and reports were prepared for legal proceedings, coordinating efforts between police officers and legal workers, and serving as the primary point of contact for prosecutors.

Cronin and Mayor Gary Christenson presented Schulz with a certificate of appreciation by Cronin during her final day on the job.

“Throughout her tenure as a Prosecutor’s Assistant, Patricia Schulz has demonstrated exceptional professionalism, integrity, and dedication to the administration of justice,” Cronin said. “Her meticulous case preparation, courtroom support, and coordination with prosecutors, law enforcement, and the court have played a vital role in the effective operation of the legal system.”

Cronin added that Schulz’s impact will be difficult to replace, but her legacy will be remembered by her peers for years to come.
