New Salon May Give Malden A Unique Edge

The business opened in late April.

MALDEN, MA — A new salon celebrated its grand opening in the city at the end of April.

Edge Salon officially opened its doors at 67 Summer St. on Tuesday, April 28. The beauty business is located adjacent to the Pearl Street Station restaurant, not far from the Malden Center MBTA Orange Line station.

“The new business is a full-service salon specializing in haircuts for men women, and children of all hair types and styles. They offer a full range of color, highlighting and perm services as well as eyebrow and lip waxing,” Mayor Gary Christenson said. “Business owner Eden Sun has more than 26 years of experience and is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence offering premium service and care for the entire family. Edge has invested in upgrading the space and anticipates hiring more employees.”

Christenson was joined by Malden Chamber of Commerce Director Marianne Cohen and member Evan Le during the formal ribbon-cutting event.

Sun is involved in the day-to-day operations of the location, and was accompanied by family members during the grand opening celebration.

Edge is open from Thursday through Monday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Edge’s arrival comes not long after The Hair Café shut down after a 50-year tenure on 422 Main St.
