Roadwork To Impact Multiple Malden Streets In Coming Days
This paving follows milling work completed on several of the same roadways as part of Malden's ongoing Roadway Improvement Program.
MALDEN, MA — Road paving work is scheduled on several Malden streets beginning Friday, July 10, including two nights of resurfacing on Highland Avenue next week, according to city officials.
Crews are scheduled to pave Crescent Lane, Crystal Street and Sharon Street on Friday, July 10. Any weather-delayed work will be completed on Monday, July 13, if necessary.
The city has also scheduled overnight paving on Highland Avenue between Pleasant Street and Devir Street at the Medford city line on Tuesday, July 14, and Wednesday, July 15, with work taking place from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. each night.

On Friday, July 10, paving is planned for Crescent Lane from Lebanon Street to the end of the roadway, Crystal Street between Eastern Avenue and Maplewood Street, and Sharon Street between Eastern Avenue and Crystal Street.
The paving follows milling work completed on several of the same roadways as part of Malden's ongoing Roadway Improvement Program. The broader 2026 construction contract includes roadway resurfacing, utility structure adjustments, granite curb work, sidewalk and driveway reconstruction, and the installation of new accessible curb ramps on streets throughout the city.

City officials are asking motorists to use caution when traveling through work zones, follow posted detours and directions from traffic control personnel, and avoid on-street parking in active work areas where applicable. Officials noted that the schedule is weather-dependent and could change.
