2 Marlborough Companies Given More Than $600K To Create 30 Jobs

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Two companies in Marlborough were granted more than half a million dollars tied to creating jobs.

Repligen Corporation and IPG Medical Corporation were given $415,000 and $195,000, respectively, to create jobs in Marlborough. Together, the two companies will create 30 jobs.

The award is part of nearly $40 million in Massachusetts Life Sciences Center tax incentives announced Monday for 38 companies expected to create 1,644 jobs statewide.

The program supports life sciences companies expanding research, development and manufacturing operations in Massachusetts.

Repligen Corporation at 111 Locke Dr. and IPG Medical Corporation at 377 Simarano Dr. were among 31 recipients expanding outside Boston and Cambridge. Those companies account for 71 percent of the jobs expected through the latest round of awards, according to the Healey administration.

“Massachusetts leads the world in life sciences because we invest in the people and companies that are creating the jobs, treatments and technologies of the future,” Gov. Maura Healey said in the announcement.

The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center program offers incentives to companies that commit to creating and retaining new, long-term jobs in the state. Participating companies have committed to creating more than 22,300 jobs since the center was established.

This year’s recipients include businesses working in artificial intelligence, women’s health, therapeutics, diagnostics, medical technology, research and development and biomanufacturing.
