Marlborough Fire Calls Continue To Rise In August

Emergency calls to Marlborough firefighters rose, marking another month of year-over-year growth.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Emergency calls to Marlborough firefighters continued to rise in August, marking another month of year-over-year growth.

The Marlborough Fire Department responded to 849 emergency incidents during the month, up 74 calls, or about 9.5 percent, from 775 in August 2025. The department reported 6,410 incidents through August, a 6 percent increase over the same period last year.

The August total represents an average of about 27 incidents per day.

The increase follows 812 emergency incidents in July, compared with 805 during July 2025.

The rising call volume comes as Marlborough firefighters continue to raise concerns about staffing. Marlborough Firefighters Local 1714 has called for additional personnel and long-term planning for a future Westside fire station.
