Marlborough Fire Calls Continue To Rise In June
Firefighters in Marlborough responded to more emergency incidents in June than they did during the same month last year.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough firefighters responded to more emergency incidents in June than they did during the same month last year.
The Marlborough Fire Department handled 822 emergency incidents in June, up from 780 in June 2025, according to the department. Firefighters have responded to 4,748 incidents so far this year, continuing a year-over-year increase of about 6 percent.
The June numbers follow a busier May, when firefighters responded to 846 emergency incidents and had logged 3,929 calls for the year.

The department was 241 incidents ahead of the same point in 2025 after May, an increase of about 6.5 percent.
The higher call volume comes as Marlborough firefighters have continued to raise staffing concerns.

Marlborough Firefighters Local 1714 President Matthew Armor told city councilors in May that the department responded to about 9,225 calls last year, nearly 50 percent more than in 2014, while operating with staffing levels that have not kept pace with the growth.
