Popular Grocery Store Opening At Former Hannaford Location In Marlborough

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A new grocery store is working toward its opening in Marlborough this year.

Shaw's is looking to open in Marlborough this spring, and construction is fully underway at the location, RK Centers, the operator of the shopping center on Boston Post Road West, wrote in a social media post on Tuesday.

The storefront on 193 Boston Post Rd. W was the former home of a Hannaford, which closed in September after the company was not given the opportunity to renew its lease at Boston Post Road West, a company spokesperson said.

Shaws supermarket chain has 150 stores in New England, with 54 in Massachusetts, including Boston, Shrewsbury, Sudbury, and Worcester.

"Marlborough, we’re excited to become part of your community in 2026! We look forward to building strong connections, supporting local efforts, and continuing our 165-year tradition of putting customers first," Shaw's wrote in a social media post from January.
