Medfield Coalition for Suicide Prevention Hosts “Path for Hope” on Medfield Rail Trail for Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The Medfield Coalition for Suicide Prevention (MCSP) will be promoting various initiatives all month long that focus on the importance of mental health. Kicking off Mental Health May is the “Path for Hope” walk on Sunday, May 3rd at 11:30 AM taking place on the Medfield Rail Trail. Last year’s inaugural walk yielded a strong turnout providing an opportunity to come together to foster healing and community. We aim to continue that spirit of connection, remembrance, and support again this year.

Spending time in nature has been shown to have profound benefits for mental well-being, including reducing stress, improving mood, and encouraging mindfulness. This walk offers a chance to embrace the gift of the Medfield Rail Trail while coming together as a community.

Join us as we take a stand against stigma, showing our neighbors that no one walks alone in their struggles, and foster a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported. More than just steps, “Path for Hope” serves as a time to remember those we have lost to suicide and show support to the families and friends who carry the losses every day.

“We hope this event serves as a meaningful way for our community to connect, and support one another,” said Anna Mae O’Shea Brooke, MCSP Member. “No one should feel alone in their struggles, and this walk is a reminder that support is always available.”

This walk is free and open to all - no need to register. Although there is no cost to participate, donations are welcome and appreciated to help the Medfield Coalition for Suicide Prevention continue its vital work in the community: www.medfieldfoundation.org/make-a-donation (please name MCSP as the recipient of your donation).
