Milford Cultural Council Opens 2026 Grant Application Period

MILFORD, MA — The Milford Cultural Council is accepting grant applications for community programs in the arts, humanities and sciences.
Individuals and organizations may apply through Oct. 15 for funding toward projects and events taking place between July 1, 2026 and Dec. 31, 2027. The council said it will prioritize proposals that primarily benefit Milford residents and contribute to the town’s cultural life.
Priority areas include visual arts, public art, arts instruction, music, performing arts, sciences and youth participation in cultural activities. The council will also favor proposals that serve a large portion of the community, recognize Milford’s cultural diversity and do not rely entirely on council funding.

The council received 44 applications last year and awarded grants to 28 projects and events, according to council Chair Geri Eddins.
“We encourage individuals and groups, especially Milford residents, to submit applications for programming that would contribute to the cultural vitality of our community,” Eddins said.

Grant Application Q&A Sessions
The council will hold two live question-and-answer sessions in the lobby of the Milford Town Library:
- Monday, Sept. 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Council members will answer questions and offer guidance in English and Spanish on preparing a thorough grant application.
“These state-sponsored grants are available to all, and the council is here to help make the application process easy and straightforward,” Eddins said.
Application tips in English, Spanish and Portuguese are available on the Milford Cultural Council’s town webpage.
Applicants should receive decisions by the end of December. Approved recipients can expect full grant payments in February 2027 after state funding arrives and required paperwork is completed.
